The municipality of the Dutch town of Scheveningen has chosen customized solar cell columns for a square at the popular port of the town. The design of the columns has been inspired by a "wobbler," which is used for fishing. The columns have been designed by a local architect based on Alfred Priess's Touché product program. Besides being customized and produced specially for the small square, the columns are entirely self-sufficient because of the integrated solar cells. The battery (NiMH) is located inside of the columns.
The light point source of the columns is 8,0 m with integrated LED lights at the top which can change color ( RGB light). The customer can easily change the the color of the lights with a mobile phone. The columns are painted in three different colors, all of which match the city's official colors. There are 9 columns in total which are going to characterize the townscape. Alfred Priess' local distributor has been in charge of entire task from casting the special foundations to installing the solar cell columns from Alfred Priess A/S.
Alfred Priess A/S congratulates the customer for this absolutely beautiful and very unique project, which we believe everyone involved can be proud of as it gives the square a very special look.
